On this fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty two personally before me Uel Lawrance Esquire a Justice of the Peace of the town of Austerlich—the county of Columbia & State of New York John Bebee a resident of the town of Austerlitz—the County of Columbia & State of New York aged ninety one years on the tenth day of August last who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832—That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as herein stated to wit that he enlisted at New Concord & then Albany County now Cl[?[ & Columbia county in the State of New York—under Lieutenant George Darrow in the company of Captain Daniel Goodrich in the fall of the year seventeen hundred & seventy five and marched under the following to Greenbush and in the winter following—Seventeen hundred and seventy five was appointed a Sargeant under Captain Goodrich and was discharged on the fifth of June seventeen hundred and seventy five by Captain Daniel Goodrich having served six months under said Goodrich.—The said [torn off] for after was discharged by Captain Goodrich, he returned home & then again entered the army under Colonel Alden, Captain Elmer Cady, Lieutenant ___Warner in the summer of Seventeen hundred and seventy five and was marched with them to Chervally & Unadilly and remained under them & with them one month and was ten & there discharged by Colonel John McKinstry having been detached by Colonel Alden & served under said McKinstry having served in both tours seven months. This deponent is to old & infirm that he is unable to go to Hudson which is the must & only spot to what this deponent could get to a court of Word which is about twenty miles from the residence of this Deponent & he hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state.             I have to advise you that from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim, R.702, it appears that John Beebe was born August 10, 1741, or August 11, 1739, place not stated.
            While living at New Concord, Albany County, New York, he served some months in Captain Daniel Goodrich’s Company Major Cady’s Regiment and was discharged June 7, 1776, and he also served in 1778 for a month at Cherry Valley.
            He applied for pension August 10, 1832, while living at Austerlitz, Columbia County, New York but his claim was not allowed as he failed to furnish specific proof of six months military service as required by the pension laws.
            That is no data on file as to family.
            I used only what was on copy of discharge certificate and no other officers at all as he made such various & contradictory statements. I could not find anything about him in Mass Archives or Capt. Daniel Goodrich either.
