Pension Application for Patrick Campbell

            On this 9th day of September 1844 before the Court of Common Pleas held in the said County, being a court of record by statute, personally appeared Adam P. Campbell, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following declaration, in order to obtain the provisions of the act of June 7th 1832—That he is the son of Patrick Campbell who was a Revolutionary officer and served according to the best of his information and belief as follows.
            That he commenced early in the Revolutionary War as a Colonel [Deponent is listed as a Lieutenant] and served under General Peter Bellinger [Peter Bellinger was a Colonel] who resided at German Flatts in the County of Herkimer, and that his services were there only on the Mohawk River in the State of New York.  That he was in an engagement which took place between The American Forces and the Indians in 1780 at or near German Flatts in the County of Herkimer and State of New York, and this deponent verily believes that his whole period of services exceed the time of three years.
            And this deponent further says that the said Patrick Campbell died on the 10th day of July 1818 and left a widow Catherine Campbell who died in [?] 1824 and that the following children only survive her, each and all of whom are of the age of 21 years and upwards.  Adam P. Campbell, Mary Harter and Catherine Rant, that his deponent refers to the annexed affidavits and family records, showing the marriage of the said Patrick Campbell and Catherine Staring? which took place previous to the year 1773—and this deponent makes this application on behalf of the children surviving the said Patrick Campbell and his wife & the deponent further states that the annexed record is a true family record of the late Patrick Campbell.  (Signed) Adam P.
