End Notes—Capt. Dirck Hansen’s Company

    1. James Livingston was the Colonel of the First Canadian Continental Regiment.  This regiment had several Canadians that enlisted and fought for American Independence.
    2. William Wallace from Johnstown, NY.  He had served as a private and Sergeant in theThird Regiment of Tryon County Militia, William also served as a Lieutenant in Colonel Lewis DuBois’ Regiment of New York State Levies, in 1780.
    3. Lambert Sawyer served as a Sergeant in the Colonel Goose VanSchaick’s New York Continental Regiment in 1776 in Captain Andrew Finck’s Company.  He served 3 years in this regiment and was discharged on June 10, 1780.  He served as a sergeant in Captain Garret Putman’s Company in Colonel Marinus Willett’s Regiment of New York State Levies in 1781.  He then served as a private in Captain Jellis A. Fonda’s Company in Colonel Willett’s Regiment in 1782.
