Robert Harris
of the City of New York in the State of New York Gentlemen being duly sworn maketh
Oath That he was a Lieut. in the Continental Sloop of War, the Reprisal in the
Service of the United States commanded by Capt. Lambert Weeks Esquire; That while
in the Service aforesaid on Board of the Sloop aforesd in an Engagement with
the Swallow Packet a British Vessel on the fifth day of February in the year
1777 he lost his Left Arm by the accidental Explosion of one of his own Guns:
By Means of which he is rendered incapable of obtaining a Livelihood by Labor;
That he is about fifty four Year of Age; That he now actually resides at the
City of New York aforesaid; That his pay while a Lieutenant as aforesaid was
thirty Dollars per month. Robert Harris
