Last Will and Testament of Jacob Klock
In the name of God. Amen, I Jacob Klock of the Town of Palatine in the County of Montgomery in the State of New York, Gentlemen, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound and disposing mind, and memory, Blessed by Almighty God therefore, to this eight day of May in the year of our Lord, One thousand seven hundred and ninety eight make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, principally and first of all, I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, who gave it me, and my body to the Earth from whence it came in hopes of a joyful resurrection, through the merits of my Saviour Jesus Christ and as for such worldly Estate, wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I dispose thereof as follows, First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catharine Stock her choice of the best room in my now dwelling house and liberty in my Seller and Seller Kitchen, with my Grand Child Eva Klock the wife of Christian Klock as long as she shall live, in her natural live time, Also four of my best sheep and four Gallons of Rum, and four Gallons of Wine, yearly every year, as for the Rum and Wine so long as she has her natural life, As also my Negro Wench Surah, as also the third part of my cash, money Bounder & Notes, that I may dispossessed of it as her own use and after my said wife her decease, I give and devise the said Negro wench Surah until my grandchild Eva Klock, wife of Christian Klock her heirs and assigns forever, I give and devise unto my grand Child Anna Dysslin, the wife of the Reverend Henry Dysslin one hundred acres of land from the farm I now live, in a patent granted to Francis Harrison and others, on the easterly of my said lot of land to begin at the Mohawk River, Running into the woods, along the Division line of Christian Nellis Esquire and myself to a patent granted to George Klock, William Nellis and others, to her the said Anna and her heirs and assigns forever, Whence I give and bequeath, unto Eva Klock the wife of Christian Klock (the said Eva being also my Grand Child) the remainder on westerly part of said my barn above mentioned, and the Improvements that are on said part as above desired to be held by the said Eva Klock, her heirs and assigns for ever, Item I order and bequeath that the said Anna Deyslin, and Evan Klock my said Grand Children, shall maintain and keep their mother and my wife, during their respective lives if they shall remain widows, but if their Mother Anna Klock, should remarry or incline to remarry they shall jointly buy and give her a good wedding gift, and the ??? of thirty pounds in cash, Item I give and bequeath unto my son Adam Klock, the farm whereon he now lives on the south side of the Mohawk River in a patent granted to Philip Livingston and other to his own use during his natural live, his wife live and his sons live, and after their respective death the said farm to be sold by my Executors, hereafter named and the product to be divided among my Grand Children in due proportion, together with the residue of my personal Estate which is not particularly herein mentioned or bequeathed, I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Eva Klock above mentioned, all my horses, cows, sheep hogs with all my farming interests ?? Also I give and bequeath unto said Eva Klock my Negro wench Sarah and her two sons Henk and George and also my nego child Masgrosed to her heirs and assign forever, I give and bequeath to Anna Dysslin above named my Negro child called Sarah to her heirs and assigns forever, I give and bequeath unto each of my grand Sons namely John March, Peter March and Henry March, each the sums of fifteen pounds lawful money of the State of New York to be paid to them respectively in one year after since my decease from my son Adam Klock, fifteen pounds to Henry march above named and Eva Klock above named into pay to John March and to peter March each the some of Fifteen pounds money aforesaid,
Lastly I do hereby constitute, nominate and appoint my trusty and well beloved friends, John S. Bellinger, Adam A. Walrath and Robert Anderson to by my executors of this my last will and Testament to see the will performed, according to my true intent and meaning.
In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
Signed, Sealed, Published and declared by the said Jacob Klock, as for his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who have here unto subscribed our names as witnesses, at his request and in his presence and of each other.

Be it remembered that on the this tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, came before me Daniel Paris Surrogate of the County of Montgomery Michael VanDerVoort, Joseph G. Klock, Jacob G. Klock, who being duly sworn severally deposed that they did see Jacob Klock the within Testator sign the within instrument and that they heard him publish and declare the same, as for his last will and testament, that the said Jacob Klock was at the time thereof to the best of their knowledge of sound and disposing mind, that their names subscribed thereto are the respective proper hand writings which they subscribed thereto as witness to the execution thereof at the request of the said Jacob Klock and in his preference and in the presence of each other.
