George Weaver on the fifth day of July 1820 personally appeared before the Judges of the court of Common Pleas at the Court house in Kingston in open Court the same being a court of Record recognised by the Act of Congress having a Clerk and seal aged 68 years he being duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the provisions made by the acts of congress of the 18th March 1818 & the first May 1820 that he the said George Weaver enlisted for the Term of seven years or during the war in the company commanded by Capt. William Craig under the command of the Regt of Colls Gansevoort and VanSchaick in the line of the State of New York on the Continental Establishment—That he was discharged from the said service after the war in the State of New York and in pursuance of the Act of the first of May 1820 I do solemnly swear that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gifts, sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an Act of Congress entitled An Act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land an Naval service of the United States in the revolutionary war passed 18th March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities contracts or Debts due me nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed. I have no real or personal property except my wearing apparel no occupation other than a common laborer and that I am unable by age to do a days work, that I am single and unmarried and never have been that I am really in want and a resident of the Town of Esopus Ulster County and was before I received relief from my country chargeable to the said Town of Esopus and supported by said Town and that by the pecuniary relief afforded me by government it is sufficient for my support and that I have no other means and further that the number of my certificate is 873 & dated 5th June 1818.
