Mr. Captain Yates
            Sur please to Let the Barer hear off have those stiffitcut [certificate] that are due to mee [sic] this from your obedient friend.
            David Griswold and Josiah Griswold

            David served in Captain James Hadlock’s Company and Josiah served in Captain Jacob Yates’ Company in Colonel Peter Yates’ Regiment of Albany County Militia [Fourteenth Regiment]
